So far, I've tried to keep these web pages as politically neutral as possible.
However, I'm going to make an exception this time. The current developments across the pond not only worry me, but they're also really getting on my nerves.

Imagine, for

Let’s imagine for a moment that there’s a country where a convicted sex offender swears on the Bible and then rises to become a very powerful figure in this fictional country—if not the most powerful person on the entire planet.
To make the story a little more exciting: The powerful guy’s wife is an immigrant.
This figure has several followers, including someone with a very fat wallet. This very follower happens to be an immigrant who displays more than a few racist tendencies.
The powerful person and the guy with the fat wallet aren’t actually capable of doing anything on their own. Both were simply lucky enough to have inherited a fair amount from their parents and to be able to afford good staff and companies with that money.

It’s almost ironic: this very same immigrant now wants to deport immigrants himself. Logically, he’d have to deport himself and the powerful person’s wife along with them. Preferably to Mars—which, admittedly, is a tempting thought.
Incidentally, the country where this story takes place was founded by immigrants. Although that “founding” was only made possible by the near-total extermination of the indigenous people.

Everyone must decide for themselves how close this story is to reality.

In any case, I have decided to stop supporting this "new Twitter"—and, by extension, its owner—effective immediately.
Unfortunately, for me, this made-up story is very close to reality.
