Blender Book Tip
Blender Book Recommendation.
I'd like to take this opportunity to share a quick book recommendation from Blender.
When I first started learning Blender, my initial challenge was figuring out how to “navigate” within Blender and which mouse actions were required.
Compared to Cinema 4D and Vue D’Esprit, some things work completely differently.
To be honest, at first I couldn't get the hang of the interface and the user experience at all.
There are countless tutorials online that describe virtually all the features, but they’re spread out across different tutorials.
Well, the Blender manual explains these things too, but it’s really just a description.
The manual is certainly good as a reference—but I find it rather boring to read.
What I was missing was basically a "one-stop resource" where nearly all the features are described.
Ideally, it would also include examples and be written in an engaging style.
Based on the positive reviews, I decided to purchase Thomas Beck’s “Comprehensive Handbook” on Blender:
https://www.amazon.de/Blender-2-7-umfassende-zuverl%C3%A4ssige-Nachschlagewerk/dp/3836224968
I’ve only included the link so you can take a quick look—I receive no compensation for this, neither from Amazon nor from the author or publisher.
I think the book is really well done because it includes sample files to illustrate the explanations.
Personally, I find this much better than just reading “dry” text, since I like to try out tips right away.
If you also (or only) purchase the book as a PDF, you'll have a ready-to-use reference guide right on your computer.
For me, this book is a definite must-buy, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone interested in Blender.
