Wordpress Again

Spring Cleaning.

After trying out various platforms for my blog, I've decided to go back to using WordPress for my blog pages.
In the past, I've looked into and used the following platforms:

  • Bludit - a flat-file CMS
  • GRAV—also a flat-file CMS
  • Zenphoto - for your gallery and blog

None of the systems were bad; I actually found Zenphoto to work quite well with the gallery. Unfortunately, Zenphoto lacks modern themes.

WordPress Again

But since I wasn't 100 percent satisfied with any of the systems, I installed the latest version of WordPress—more or less just for fun. And lo and behold:
I got the hang of it right away and enjoyed its many features. From there, it wasn’t long before I decided to give WordPress another chance in the live environment as well.

Compared to Bludit and Grav in particular, WordPress makes my work and writing much easier. In short, it’s more convenient than flat-file CMS systems.
Of course, this is just my completely subjective opinion—there are probably plenty of other views on this.
In any case, I’m currently very satisfied with WordPress.

FlatFile CMS

If you only have a manageable number of articles, then I can wholeheartedly recommend Grav. The core system is free, but there are so-called premium plugins that must be purchased.
By the way, Grav comes from the creators of the well-known caching plugin WPRocket.
